Two counties, one bay

Englewood is shared by Sarasota and Charlotte counties on Florida’s Gulf coast^[1]. Lemon Bay lies between Manasota Key and Englewood. Lemon Bay Park covers 210 acres with 1.7 miles of shoreline^[2], and the Lemon Bay Aquatic Preserve is a shallow estuary, rarely more than 6 feet deep, managed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection^[3]. Because Englewood spans two counties, the stormwater rules depend on which side of the line a property is on.
